quality  printing is paramount to photography

Kawartha Photographers Guild

Nuts and bolts...

Guild meetings are held in and about, Peterborough on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm, September to June inclusive.  Meetings are not scheduled in July and August,

Due to the pandemic, we now meet online using Zoom and photos from members are uploaded and a digital matte is placed around them but no other post processing is done. All photos are shown just as the artist intended them to be seen. Of course, everyone's monitor is calibrated slightly differently so there will always be some deviation from the intended view.

All members will pay a yearly fee of $20.

All members should be printing their own photographs.  New members can work toward printing their own  photographs over  a period of 6 months with assistance from knowledgeable guild members.

Members are encouraged to show a minimum of 8 prints per year at guild meetings. Print sizes can range from 11x14 to 20x30 with the normal print being 16x24. The guild encourages prints on any substrate from standard paper to canvas wraps to metal. All prints to be presented must be shown with a professional look and feel to them although framing is not required. Standard paper based prints are to be mounted and have a matte border, while metal or canvas wraps may be presented in their native form as these are generally not framed.
